We want to explain what it is like to input the country of shift start(end). A recommendation on how to do it is published on our website (Informations – Tachographs).
We have received criticism that we are introducing.
But .. if you read Article 34 (7) in Regulation 165/2014, it is clearly written there that the start of the work shift must be marked by the country of departure. And I ask, is the break (rest) the beginning of working hours ?? Maybe on Mars or Venus, but not here.
For the freight driver, this means that there is a “work” sign on the tachograph – nothing else. And then you need to enter the country of departure.
However, if the tachograph is then switched back to Rest mode, it has the same effect as if you had not taken the previous step …. but;
Given that our program is also sold, for example, in Germany, where this entry of the country of departure is widely checked, we found that the German BAG has its control program set up so that if you enter the country of departure as I described and then switch to Rest, it doesn’t matter if the car moves within 15 minutes.
These 15 minutes are really nowhere in the legislation, it is our recommendation based on our knowledge of other control programs.
