The Tachograph Driver Card Software (TDCS) is a local software solution for managing the data of the driver card and the digital tachograph.
Due to its high performance and easy operation, the software is an ideal tool for both drivers and companies of any size.
For what is the evaluation software required?
To meet company responsibilities, corresponding software solutions are required for the backup, archiving, and evaluation of driver card and digital tachograph data in addition to hardware for reading this data.
What responsibilities does the company have arising from the switch to digital tachographs?
Archiving/storage responsibility
The data of the digital tachograph (mass memory) must be read every three months at the latest, while the data of the driver card should be read every 28 days at the latest. The data should be saved in duplicate immediately according to the general legal conditions.
Duty to schedule
The company must schedule the trips of its drivers in such a way that they are not forced to violate the regulations regarding the driving and break times. This includes the planning of corresponding buffer times. A dedicated piece rate is also prohibited.
Duty to supervise
The company is obliged to check the data from the digital tachograph and driver card regularly for violations.
Duty to train
The company is obliged to instruct the driver in case of violations against the social regulations and must take the necessary measures in regard to labor law in case of repeated offenses (e.g. official warnings, termination).
Duty to inform
The company is obliged to send the required data to a supervisory body. In addition, drivers have the right to view their own data; i.e. the company must provide this data to the respective driver upon request.
With the Driver Card Software (TDCS), you can meet all these responsibilities.
What responsibilities does the driver have arising from the switch to driver card?
For whom do the regulations and laws recording the digital tachograph apply?
The scope of the regulation is defined in EU Regulation (EC) 561/2006 Chapter 1 Article 2. According to this regulation, all commercial carriage traffic and the transport of people within the European Community and states that are contracting parties with the AETR (European Agreement Concerning the Work of Crews of Vehicles Engaged in International Road Transport) fall under the applicable provisions.
In addition to transport and carriage companies, bus companies, artisan businesses, construction companies, or municipal waste disposal companies must observe the legal regulations.
